Our solution to this sloping garden with minimal useable space was to create terraces, with generous steps leading to a level lawn for family games.
The patio at one end looks on to the lawn and enjoys the sun all day. Boundaries are planted with yew hedging which in time will provide an evergreen green backdrop to colourful perennials, while the slopes are planted with low maintenance shrubs and grasses.
