Architectural planting and modern furniture ideas for a stylish roof garden.
Tough and durable: this residential roof garden has to endure strong winds at times, sea salty humidity and lots of sunshine.
Our clients asked us to design and install planting and furniture for their under-used sea front roof terrace, both to screen off the neighbouring property and provide a welcoming environment. Placed squarely between the open sea and a golf course, we had to consider the climate, open environment and roof construction carefully when choosing materials, plants and planters.
Architectural plants have been selected for their hardiness, salt and drought tolerance. Seating, gas cylinder cupboard and occasional tables have been designed by Chalcot to withstand the elements and be low maintenance while retaining an attractive finish.
